From news of a new cocktail bar arriving on Fish Lane to the official opening date of Neighbour by Range, The Weekend Edition is always on the search for the latest food news in Brisbane, dedicated to ensuring its readers are in the know. When we put our ears to the pavement this week, this is what we found out …
Lane’s End
A brand-new cocktail bar inspired by old-school Hollywood glamour is opening in Fish Lane this week, with Lane’s End opening its doors to the public on Friday August 21. The sleek haunt has taken over the space previously occupied by Next Episode, with the Lane’s End crew exchanging the graffiti-heavy aesthetic for a sophisticated setup of burgundy tones, leather banquettes and tasteful decor reminiscent of golden age James Bond films. Cocktails are a major part of the Lane’s End concept, with the menu centred around variations on classics – think a fig and vanilla-infused old fashioned and an Aperol spritz sour. The bar will also serve tap and bottled beers, a tight wine list and a selection of creative mocktails. While there’s no kitchen on site, Lane’s End will serve complimentary popcorn on arrival, while the team are also investigating the potential of ordering a feed from Hashtag Burgers and Waffles next door via QR code. Envisioned as an intimate spot to end the night or to pop in while making your way down the lane, Lane’s End is shaping up to be a well-received addition to South Brisbane’s chicest laneway. We’ll have more on Lane’s End soon.
