Brisbane’s glitziest strip is set to shine a bit brighter next month when James St Up Late makes its triumphant return on Thursday March 19. This late-night celebration is a must-attend for fans of the finer things, with a jam-packed program full of discounts, party bags, collection previews, special events and custom dining packages on the cards for 2026. Fix up, look sharp – this event is set to be the biggest yet.
One night every year, James Street’s retailers keep their doors open after sunset for James St Up Late (JSUL) – a street party of major proportions. The lively event is back for 2026, with the picturesque promenade taking on new life from 5:00–8:00 pm on Thursday March 19. This year, revellers can expect a jaw-dropping collection of discounts and giveaways, paired with must-attend parties, divine dining experiences and one-off activations.
When it comes to bargains, JSUL has guests covered, with more than 25 of the street’s top retailers (including home-grown and international designers) offering one-night-only discounts of up to 50 per cent. Clothing brands like ALPHA60, Assembly Label, Mister Zimi, St. Agni and Nudie Jeans will be slashing prices alongside EdwardsAndCo, ARTCLUB, Museum of Small Things and more. Gifts will also be available with purchase from select retailers.
JSUL’s party bags are back for 2026, with 1000 bags available to anyone who spends $50 or more at a participating retailer, filled with goodies from the likes of Go-To Skincare, BASSIKE, Allpress, RATIONALE, Byron Bay Cookie Company and Lematch, to name a few.
Competitions will also be running all night long, with JSUL amassing a prize pool of more than $25,000 worth of shopping and experiences. There are two ways to win – one is a Golden Ticket prize that will give one lucky duck prizes including a made-to-measure jacket from Mitchell Ogilvie, gift vouchers to St. Agni, Silk Laundry and Kave Home, and lunch for eight guests at Penelope. The other way to win is by selecting The Golden Bag, with one in 20 James St Up Late party bags containing extra special treats – including hotel stays, gift vouchers and styling sessions.

As always, JSUL will feature a number of special events and dining experiences. This year, Calexico is teaming up with Cru Bar for a ticketed Italian wine and canapes soiree to launch Milan’s Raquel Diniz collection. Gerard’s and Twin Palms will be offering complimentary drinks and giveaways, while the team from Fountainhead Winehouse is taking over Mud for wine tastings. Live illustrations will be taking place over at Kave Home, with each visitor receiving a personalised gift.
On the food front, James Street’s restaurants and bars will be running custom menus, with The Nixon Room offering dirty martinis and fried chicken from 4:00 pm, Essa running a special Five Chefs, Five Plates dinner, Penelope slinging tiny martinis, truffle fries and Caesar salads all night long, while Allpress is hosting an Up Late Affogatos pop-up in the Harveys Restaurant car park.
There’s even more to enjoy – be sure to head to the James St Up Late website to browse the full program.
