If there’s one thing you can count on from Chloe Watts, owner of Tarte Beach House and Tarte Bakery & Cafe, it’s that her seasonal menus never play it safe. This Easter, she and her team of pastry maestros have gone all in – in the most delicious way possible. Expect delicate, detailed, slightly whimsical creations that look almost too pretty to eat (but you absolutely will).

Easter might already be an excuse to indulge, but Tarte takes it next level. At its Currumbin outpost, things unfold inside the Tarte Tea Garden – a leafy, flower-filled alfresco terrace made for long, sugar-fuelled catch-ups. This is where the Easter High Tea lands, arriving on tiered stands stacked with lemon meringue tarts, caramelised banana cake with generous swirls of cream cheese icing and a brand-new hot cross bun scone served warm with house-whipped dulce and macadamia praline butter.

The savoury side keeps things balanced with cucumber sandwiches, salmon bagels and a truffle bechamel and cheese croissant, but let’s be honest – you’re here for the sweets.

At $55 per person including a drink, it’s a pretty easy way to settle in and spend a couple of hours. Or, if you’re in the mood for a la carte, head next door and pull up a seat at Tarte Beach House.

Next door is where things dial up the drama. The standout is the Easter creme brulee egg and soldiers – a hollow chocolate shell filled with house-made creme brulee, designed to be cracked open and scooped up with butter-pressed, cinnamon-dusted dippers. There’s also a sticky-date hot cross bun drenched in salted-caramel sauce, leaning fully into that rich, spiced sweetness, alongside toasted hot cross buns served simply with butter or a generous swipe of dulce caramel butter.

Meanwhile, in Burleigh the Easter line-up shows up a little bit differently with a decadent hot cross bun churro hybrid served with dulce de leche macadamia butter, plus chocolate chip hot cross buns for those who like their classics with a twist.

Either way, if you’re doing Easter this year, you may as well do it properly. This line-up is only available for a limited time, so you’d better hop to it.
