A lot is happening on the Gold Coast (and surrounds) right now – honestly, keeping up is becoming a full-time job. The Dish is our rapid-fire wrap of the food world’s latest happenings, serving up bite-sized snippets designed to keep you in the loop and your weekend plans dangerously overcommitted. This week, we’re talking about Rosella’s gloriously chaotic British takeover returning for round two, Norté firing up a new midweek steak night, Mondrian Gold Coast throwing a champagne-fuelled first birthday party and Bangalow favourite You Beauty embracing its pub era for winter – plus more Gold Coast food news.

You Beauty is embracing its pub era for winter
You Beauty is settling into winter with The You Beauty Inn, a pub-style pop-up inspired by the classic small pubs found on city corners. Launching next Wednesday June 10 and running for the next couple of months, the seasonal shift will bring a new menu, regular live music, footy on the TV, beers on tap and a few extra touches designed to make the venue feel like your favourite little local. On the food front, co-owners Matt Stone and Stephen Peak, alongside head chef Nelson Zin have created a playful take on pub classics, with new dishes including a venison Big Mac, fish pie, beer-battered pickles and a kangaroo scotch egg, while favourites like croc toast will remain in the mix. The drinks list will still hold strong, with a few more house wines joining Guinness, Grifter Pale and XXXX Gold on tap. Read more here.

Rosella’s is bringing back its gloriously unhinged British takeover for one more night
After the first British takeover sold out in spectacular fashion, chef Tom Norbury (previously head chef at Norté) is once again bringing the chaos for a second instalment of Cooked, the venue’s Monday night pop-up series. The latest edition, which will take place on Monday June 8, leans even further into unapologetically British comfort food, with oysters kilpatrick, prawn cocktails, bangers and mash, Guinness stout cake and the now-iconic fish finger sandwich all making appearances across the menu. If the first event proved anything, it’s that Gold Coasters are apparently very willing to spend a Monday night passionately debating curry sauce over pints and nostalgia-fuelled plates.

Mondrian Gold Coast is throwing a first birthday party at Haven Pool Club
It’s been exactly one year since Mondrian Gold Coast arrived in Burleigh and promptly changed the tone of the southern end’s hotel scene – and naturally, it’s celebrating the milestone the only way it really could, with a champagne-fuelled pool party at Haven. On Saturday June 6, the rooftop pool club will host an afternoon of DJs, cocktails, sunshine and elevated poolside revelry from 12:00–6:00 pm, inviting locals and hotel guests alike to join the festivities. Over the past 12 months, the design-led beachfront hotel has become one of the Gold Coast’s most talked-about openings, recently earning a place on Travel + Leisure’s 2026 It List recognising the world’s best new hotels. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to spend a Saturday drinking champagne beside a rooftop pool in Burleigh, this feels like a fairly strong one. See more here.

Cult sandwich slingers Joe’s Deli is opening a new location at Robina Town Centre
Our obsession with stacked sandwiches is showing no signs of slowing down, with cult-favourite sandwich shop  Joe’s Deli confirming a fourth location is headed to Robina Town Centre this July. Landing inside The Kitchens precinct, the new outpost marks the brand’s second Gold Coast venue and continues its rapid expansion across the state. Known for stacked New York-style sandwiches, fast-paced service and a heavy dose of nostalgic diner energy, Joe’s has quickly built a loyal following for the kind of oversized, no-fuss sandwiches that require both hands and several napkins. The Robina venue is set to double down on the brand’s signature aesthetic, pairing bold flavours with a 90s-inspired fit-out designed to feel more Lower East Side deli than shopping-centre food court. And if the whispers are true, this may not be the last Joe’s Deli opening the Gold Coast sees this year. We’re drooling already!
