From news of a proposed expansion for a popular waterfront hub to a new home for Biang Biang Fresh Noodle, The Weekend Edition is always on the search for the latest food news in Brisbane, dedicated to ensuring its readers are in the know. When we put our ears to the pavement this week, this is what we found out …
Biang Biang Fresh Noodle
One of Brisbane’s best noodle joints is on the move. Biang Biang Fresh Noodle is relocating from its cosy nook at the Central Brunswick shops, enacting a cross-suburb jump to brand-new digs in The Valley. The purveyor of authentic Shaanxi flavours is in the final stages of a fit-out on Wickham Street (across the road from Les Bubbles) and will boast a larger dining space to enjoy its menu of cult-fave items. Leading the eatery’s offering will be its namesake specialty, biang biang noodles. Named as an onomatopoeic reference to the slapping of noodle dough, this comforting staple comprised of thick, belt-width noodles (made fresh on site and typically bathed in a bone-warming broth) will be joined by an array of other mouth-watering options. Biang Biang Fresh Noodle will reopen soon, just in time to satiate your winter cravings. Stay tuned for more.

Manly Boathouse
In exciting news for bayside locals, the team behind Manly Boathouse has just lodged a development application to significantly expand the popular waterfront venue. The plans propose a new two-storey extension to be built on undeveloped land next door to the existing venue. Connecting directly to the current restaurant, bar and cafe, the expansion would add approximately 908-sqm of new floor space and would include additional kitchen facilities, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a bar, private-dining space, staff amenities, landscaping, parking, and back-of-house services. While operating hours would remain unchanged, the extension is designed to support dual use as both a food-and-drink venue and function space. Keen to check out the plans? 205 North Quay
Since opening in 2025, Cbus Property’s 205 North Quay has established itself as one of Brisbane’s most ambitious new city-shaping developments – and now its ground-floor is set to evolve into a vibrant hospitality hub. In partnership with Eurest, Cbus Property has unveiled plans for a new retail precinct featuring five distinct food concepts designed to transform the tower into a destination beyond the workplace. Already open is Herschel, a light-filled lobby cafe serving coffee, matcha, pastries and grab-and-go bites, with Mavis (specialty coffee and baked goods), Böhl (fresh, wellness-focused meals), a premium micro market and the headline act, Pozzo’s – a Mediterranean-inspired eatery centred on pizza – all expected to launch by July 2026. Backed by a central production kitchen and event facilities, the precinct aims to cement 205 North Quay’s role as a new civic and lifestyle hub for Brisbane’s inner city. Click here for more info.
Cleveland Tavern
A beloved hillside Redlands pub has announced a significant transformation, with the Cleveland Tavern undergoing a renovation process ahead of a mid-winter opening. The venue, which originally opened in 1996 as Dicey Reilly’s, is looking to reconnect with its roots with a wide-ranging refurbishment that will offer a refreshed hospitality experience infused with Irish inspirations. All spaces will be the recipient of a makeover, with a reconfiguration of the layout intended to create a more interconnected feel between different parts of the venue. The Cleveland Tavern’s gaming room and kitchen facilities will remain open during the construction period, with food and drinks available daily.
