Set against rolling hinterland hills of Mount Tamborine, the all-star line-up features Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Casey Barnes and more. Scenic Rim Eat Local Month kicks off this weekend, serving up four weeks of flavour-packed road trips just an hour from the Gold Coast. From May 30 to June 29, the region comes alive with more than 100 events – from long lunches and fire feasts to veggie picking and foodie festivals. Each weekend explores a different pocket of the Scenic Rim, making it perfect for day trips or delicious weekend getaways. Pack the car, and your appetite!

Warm up your weekend at beloved Irish watering hole and restaurant D’Arcy Arms with the official lighting of the pub fire this Saturday night. This cosy annual tradition comes with live tunes from Markie B & Gallie in the Shamrock Bar from 6:00–9:30 pm. Great craic, crackling flames and classic Irish vibes await!

From 4:00–8:00 pm, enjoy classic cars, live music, food trucks, market stalls and an outdoor bar – all with a laid-back retro vibe. Live shows and exhibitions on the Gold Coast this weekend

SeaFire returns this Saturday with a fresh twist (thanks to Alfred) and for the first time ever, the international fireworks spectacular will light up four Gold Coast locations simultaneously. Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Broadwater Parklands and HOTA will all host the action, with 18 minutes of dazzling displays from Belgium, the USA and Australia. Free and family-friendly, this explosive night promises sky-high thrills and a whole new way to experience SeaFire.

Kicking off this weekend at HOTA, CLOUD PLAY is a sky-high spectacle you’ll want to see for yourself. Created by Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics, it features thousands of colourful ribbons that dance with the breeze by day and glow with light by night. It’s free to see until July 13 as part of the WONDER festival at HOTA.cing program, including the $1 million Magic Millions National 2YO Classic, there’ll be live entertainment, pop-up bars, and a drone show to close out the night in style.

Explore literary treasures at HOTA’s blockbuster exhibition Writers Revealed: Treasures from the British Library and National Portrait Gallery, London. The one-of-a-kind exhibition experience brings together over 100 rare manuscripts and portraits from literary legends like William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, William Blake, Virginia Woolf, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Lewis Carroll, Sir Kazuo Ishiguro and Zadie Smith – many of which have never been seen outside the UK. Structured in five thematic sections, the exhibition spans 500 years of authorship, offering a rare glimpse into the lives of iconic English-language writers through their original works and portraits.

Marvel at illuminated night walk Astra Lumina at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The cosmic after-dark journey will take you on a curated trail through Currumbin’s 27 hectares of pristine bushland by night, with immersive projections, incredible lighting and otherworldly soundscapes.
