From 4:00 pm on Saturday April 4, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is hosting a family movie night complete with face painting, food trucks and a special appearance from Kevin the Koala. Paddington in Peru will show on the cinema lawn at 6:30 pm, entry is free and all are welcome.

King Street is rolling out the red carpet for the return of Eat Like A King. The Yamaha Australian National Band Championships take place in Brisbane this week. Thursday April 2 will see soloists compete in Ashgrove at AMEB Studios. Then from Friday April 3 through Sunday competing bands are set to perform in Brisbane City Hall. Tickets range from single day passes to weekend passes and are available here.

Something magical has arrived to South City Square in Woolloongabba. The Secret Garden immersive garden installation is a walk-through experience inviting families and curious explorers into a whimsical space. Inspired by C.S Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe the area has over 600 individually controlled LED lights which coincide with five custom playlists on rotation. Other aspects of the space include hand-carved sculptures of wombats, wallabies, kookaburras, snake totems and mushrooms, and stepping stones pave the way through the dry creek bed creating a relaxing space for all ages to appreciate. Play School Live is bringing Humpty’s Big Celebration to QUT’s Garden Theatre this weekend to celebrate 60 years of Play School. Beloved presenters and famous toys will take the stage in a 40-minute concert that’s perfect for young families. Purchase your tickets here.
Collectormania is on this weekend at the Brisbane Showgrounds John Reid Pavillion. On April 3 and 4 the antique, collectable, record and coin fair will bring together over 60 specialist vendors. Admission is $10 and free for under 14’s.
